better would be if copper pressure plates didnt work exactly same as any existing ones
maybe making them work like sort of like copper bulb mixed with pressure plate, so it would fit theme of both, pressure plates and copper redstone component
so triggering it once would make it emit redstone indefinitely till it gets triggered again, sort of like lever but by stepping on it, not by clicking, it would work differently for different purposes than existing pressure plates, besides looks
different oxidation levels could have different cooldown before letting another trigger, signal strength, or even what it can detect, as less oxidized plates could detect also items like wooden ones, more only mobs like stone ones

it could also be reversed, so it would emit signal when not stepped on, but when you step on it, it stops emitting signal as long it is pressed down
this case could even make pressure plate oxidation states matter to work as reversed existing pressure plates, pristine like wood, binary, only on/off, just being off by stepping on it, two medium oxidation states working as heavy/light weighted pressure plates, just more items lowering signal strenght till turning it off entirely when it reaches maximum detectable amount, and fully oxidated pressure plate working as reversed stone one, detection only mobs
