Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Shelf Item Positioning

The item positioning seen in the first preview version of Bedrock edition for the new shelf items should be the default placement for said items. In Java Snapshot 25w32a the items now 'sit' on the bottom of the shelf. While more real looking, the centered item placement seen in the first bedrock preview allows for more creative uses of the block, and makes it easier to see the item.

    It looks significantly better.
    And I have seen dozens of tweets on twitter/X sharing this same sentiment.

    Please for the love of god, don't keep the new shelf positioning. it looks awful compared to the items sitting in the middle of the shelf. As a builder I was very excited seeing the items in the middle and upon seeing the new snapshot I found myself dissapointed. The item resting on the bottom of a shelf really dampens the building possibilities. Consider stoplights for example, being able to have green red and yellow banners looks terrible when they are on the bottom third of the shelves.

    PLEASE put it back how it was Mojang!! Nothing about the new change is better in any way! It was so cool before and opened up a whole new world of opportunities for building!

    If the shelf is in hotbar mode then items should float in the center. If it’s in the default shelf mode then items should rest at the bottom. This gives more variety to how shelves can be used in builds which leaves everyone happy. Item sizes should also match bedrock edition where it is easier to see what is being stored on the shelves.

    Strongly disagree with that. Hotbar mode is more difficult to incorporate into builds since it requires redstone power. Most people want centered items because they're so useful for builds. Having to cram a redstone block in there would be a huge shame.

    Yeah I prefer the old shelf positioning. I was looking forward to a new way to do signage. Now its just disappointing. Please change it back mojang.
