Currently, the Copper Golem picks up items from copper chests and deposits them into regular or trapped chests—if the chest is empty or already contains the same item type, up to 16 items per run. But it cannot interact with barrels, shulker boxes, shelves, or other container types.
I suggest that the Copper Golem’s storage-targeting logic be expanded, so that if it cannot find a suitable regular chest, it can instead choose other valid containers that can store items, such as barrels, shulker boxes, or even the newly added shelves.
This would make the Copper Golem far more flexible and useful in modern base designs.
Examples of useful scenarios:
– A golem tries to unload items into a chest room but finds all chests full—then it could use a barrel nearby.
– In creative builds where shulker boxes are used for organizing categories, the golem could deposit items there.
– With shelves (which can hold up to three items and work with redstone), the golem could help set up functional or decorative displays.
By supporting more container types, Copper Golem item sorting would become more intuitive, immersive, and compatible with a variety of Minecraft playstyles and builds.
