Dear Minecraft Team,
I hope you're well. I'm a dedicated Minecraft player on PS5 using an OLED TV, and I’d like to raise a concern about static UI elements that could contribute to screen burn-in over time.
Specifically, the always-visible crosshair and persistent HUD elements like the hotbar and health bar can pose a risk to OLED screens due to prolonged display. I’d like to suggest the implementation of more advanced HUD and crosshair customization options to help mitigate this.
For the HUD (Health Bar & Hotbar):
Allow separate opacity controls, independent of other UI elements.
Make the HUD dynamic: hide it when at full health, and automatically show it when taking damage or when pressing the touchpad (with customizable opacity and duration).
Have it fade out again once health is restored and no interaction occurs.
For the Crosshair (Reticle):
Add options to adjust its opacity and intensity independently.
Make it dynamic as well: invisible during non-combat actions (like walking or building) and reappear temporarily during combat or aiming.
These features would reduce burn-in risk, enhance immersion, and provide players with better visual control, especially on OLED displays.
Thank you for your continued work on Minecraft.
Best regards,
Francesco
