I tried the Vibrant Visuals feature in Minecraft Bedrock Beta Preview 1.21.90.28, and I must say—it’s one of the best new features added recently. However, there are a few issues that need attention.
In the Desert biome, the visuals feel slightly off. The shadow quality isn't up to the mark, despite the feature consuming a significant amount of GPU power. It gives the impression that the system could be better optimized.
Graphically, it resembles using a mod or texture pack on Pocket Edition with a low-end phone. The problem, however, is that it demands high system resources and won’t run well on low-end devices. In contrast, a well-designed resource pack might offer even better visuals at a lower performance cost.
That said, I really like the reflections and shadows in other biomes—they add great depth and realism. One missing feature, though, is dynamic lighting. Torches held by players should emit light to nearby blocks, similar to how shaders work in Minecraft Java Edition.
In conclusion, while the feature is functional and visually appealing in many areas, it still has some bugs and uses more resources than it ideally should. With further optimization, it could become a standout visual upgrade.
