    I also recommend having some sort of way to prevent the player from nullifying the creature before its gotten up full, maybe reduced damage taken by the mob until they are on their feet. That way, the player can still "cheese" it, but the dormant mobs still get their job done by being a surprise attack!

    This would add immersion to the game, making the space around the player feel more reactive, making the player's actions have a response from the world.

    Similar to how Half-Life has handled this mechanic, making the world more responsive to the player in ways that don't require direct interaction, make it feel ALIVE.
