These mobs would act identically to the base game... when they are awake! Finding skeletons and zombies lying down in caves around corners that can jump up and begin their attack! They happen to be waiting a long while for a player, so they decided to take a lie down and play the waiting game.
This could also be implemented in the pyramids, having husks lie there, waiting for an unfortunate player to come raiding the tomb.
Aswell as other structures with other mobs, like the drown in the ocean ruins, or mobs in monster dungeons, after no player has found the dungeon for some time, they go into hibernation, waiting for a player to come into distance.
This may also, depending on how its implemented, increase performance, due to less mob ai decisions being made when a player is not near.
