the lightning rod is honestly, kinda useless. it only lets lightning strike it, that's true, but if your roof is flammable, it still catches it on fire, defeating the whole purpose! I Know, if the area around is not flammable it doesn't catch fire, but if your roof is not flammable, you don't need it. I have an idea to fix this dilemma, Electrocuting Metal! if metal gets hit by lightning, it and all-metal blocks around it become electrocuted, meaning they deal damage to all entities for a few seconds! But, if lightning strikes a Lightning rod, that doesn't happen, giving it a Purpose! Electrocuting Blocks will also be cool in adventure maps, and, should also give off a Redstone signal, and if you guys are ambitious, maybe you can make a "Tesla Coil" with 1 lightning rod, 1 copper slab, and 1 Redstone (Virticly in that order)! The Tesla Coil Will make The closest Metal block (or entity if that is closer) Electrocuted! it requires a Redstone signal to work and will help Players use the Electrocuted Blocks Easier!
