I feel like the monster spawning rules spawn way too many monsters in the new large caves, to the point that they cease to be a challenge and are an annoyance because of the number of monsters, similar to the soul sand valley.
Instead of just decreasing the hostile mob cap underground, I think that instead monsters should attempt to spawn as spread out as possible within an area, leading to the same challenging amount of mobs in tighter spaces, without having overwhelming swarms of monsters in larger caves.
