So, hear me out. Endermen; highly based on Slenderman, which was fairly popular in internet horror culture at the time. Honestly, the cry still gives me chills. Love the connection.
So. Siren Head. Similar thing in internet horror culture today. Uses the creepy distorted alert sounds for extra creep factor. So, how do we implement that into a fun game mechanic?
My thought would be the Warden maybe can trigger cave ambiance when it's nearby. But, here's the catch. The cave sounds happen a little more frequently than normal, more and more when it gets closer. And the more it happens, maybe it starts getting distorted, so you know it's not just the game scaring the heck out of you like it does.
Kind of makes sense with the vibration connection, since vibrations and sound seem related.
