I am a Java player but this seems so basic that I feel like it should be easy to implement on Bedrock. However I am not a developer so I can't say why this isn't in the game though I wish I knew.

We need the off hand feature, so we can put food, torches and blocks to easily access to it. So we don’t need to switch one more time when we switched it a second ago. Pls add this feature.

And why don’t Minecraft just add a smaller button beside the jump button in mcpe to not confuse. Then if we want to use the offhand, just press that button or long press the button to activate the offhand, so dat we can put anything on the offhand and does not effect the main hand. Just a suggestion

No idea how this hasn’t happened, it’s so simple! Bedrock has gained so many players that I don’t see how or why basic features Java has hasn’t been implemented. If I can hold a shield it can’t be that much more code for a torch.

Adding offhand for Bedrock Edition will been a huge change to Bedrock. I died in one of my worlds due to a creeper exploding me, me popping my totem, me in my inventory trying to put a new totem on, and another creeper explodes me, causing me to die in my world. I say that Minecraft Bedrock Edition for offhand will make it easier for the players to swap their totem from main hand, to offhand. Also allow players to use those items in their offhand, like placing blocks while it's in the offhand.

They haven't added this to bedrock because of touchscreen devices. This is my solution to that:

With the constant addition of newer items that have new functions, it becomes increasingly tedious to have to switch between tools when multitasking. While mining, you use both your pickaxe and torch. While excavating, you use both your shovel and brush. While fighting, you use both your sword and food. While building, you use both blocks and mining tools. I could go on more, as Minecraft has many different things to do for players. Adding offhand would improve all these aspects of Minecraft gameplay. It is a feature that any type of minecraft player can benefit from.

I really enjoy being able to play with my friends who play console on Minecraft Bedrock this issue with the limited off-hand bothers me so much and is the main and really only gripe I have with this edition of the game. In terms of Minecraft PE I feel that a good solution would just be to add a small button for the off-hand or to just have limited off-hand use when a touch screen is enabled. I don't think it makes sense to me to limit both console and PC bedrock players with this feature because it's a hard problem to solve for touch screens. Please let us use off-hand, this feature alone would make bedrock edition 10x better and maybe even better than Java, nostalgia aside.

Eventhough I'm a Java player it is insane the Bedrock community is still waiting for a 2016 feature. So here's my vote.

    Good luck.

As a Java player that wants to try bedrock....it feels so basic that not having it in br breaks the immersive experience, so, it would be great if you can add this

I play a bit of both, more Bedrock than Java these days but this is a feature that would be such a quality of life improvement and would bridge the player bases together massively. If implementing the feature to mobile is the hurdle, there seems to be a few suggested solutions for that problem, assuming it can be done. To most of us who just play the game, it seems like a layup, maybe a deeper explanation to appease the masses could be digested. Help us!

I cannot believe it's been like 10 years since the offhand was added to Java and plebrock still doesn't have it
Just because of some touch controls, that no one uses.. A least the Java version is amazing still and wasn't completely ruined by the Microsoft bureaucracy

What's really bizarre is the fact offhand item functionalities still isn't in the game after all these years, even tho getting any item into the offhand is possible with commands, and I'm sure devs will say something about mobile and console players, again, but what possible reason could they give for having offhand Nautilus Shells since the Update Aquatic that do nothing and no offhand torch or foods

And for android just put a use button on the left side of the screen. Or a second use button next to the first one.

I would love to be able to repair my mending tools while fishing or killing mobs by holding the tools in my off hand, just like they can on Java Edition!! Please and thank you!

This is such an obvious parity feature.  Bedrock has suffered for too long without this.

Minecraft should add offhand in bedrock because, then bedrock can fight to java equaly. And explore everyware without placing torch.Beside mc should add faster regeneration in bedrock.

i hope the bedrock devs start listening to the community that makes their game what it is. instead of being in their own bubble and working on random stuff (like ore ui, which no one wants) instead of what the community wants. stop removing "bugs" the community likes and other stuff like that. do better mojang
