Wood. Its great. Weve been getting new types, and are anticipating more in the future. A wonderful thing for players. Perhaps the best feature of wood is the consistency of crafting items. EVERY wood type has: Logs, Stripped Logs, Planks, Fence, Fence Gate, Pressure Plate, Buttons and (except for nether woods) boats. Every time wood is added we can expect to see this consistency. However, there are many things in the game which, inexplicably, do not share this consistency. Notably, Stone type blocks and Metals. I propose that all stone types and metals (and other features in the game which would benefit from this approach) follow the same pattern. Stone type blocks should all have: Cobble, Polished, Chiseled, Brick, Cracked Brick, and their Mossy variants. Additionally: Pressure Plates, Walls and Buttons. Deepslate does not have buttons or Plates, Quartz doesnt have Walls, Plates or Buttons. Copper and Gold do not have features players have enjoyed from Iron for over 11 years! Iron Bars are an indispensable staple of building. Metals should have a Pressure Plate, Bars and perhaps a unique item specific to the ore, like the Lightning Rod and Chains, which leaves Gold the odd one out. Mojang have said they will never add furniture, please give builders a bigger palette of decorative items! None of these are "OP", fit within the lore, world and aesthetic of Minecraft and make perfect sense, even to new players. I cannot think of a single reason NOT to add them.
