leads on eggs

silly idea, but if you think about it, it's not a bad idea. whenever I open my fence gate for my chicken pen to collect my eggs, the chickens escape. if you could use leads on eggs, you could get them close enough to the fence to pick them up. if you use the lead on a dropped egg, it won't despawn. it wont rotate either. Minecraft could use this feature.
