Of course. Let's also have Redstone armor because Redstone is an ore and therefore must also be a tier with tools and armor. Also, since Quartz is a gemstone, why not use it in armor like Diamonds? Also Emerald is a gemstone, so why not use it in decoration and have more building options for it like Quartz? In case you didn't notice; I'M BEING SARCASTIC! Mojang has been trying to convey to you that every ore needs to have a unique purpose, and any functionality that it has needs to be special and have a reason to exist! Not just because they're all metals does that mean that they all should be used for building! This has been the case in Minecraft a very long time; some minerals might share similar properties, but they shouldn't share too similar functionalities. Even with tiers, each tier needs to have a special reason to exist, like being a significant part of progression like Iron and Diamonds or Netherite, or having special properties that are actually useful.

yes Cut Iron + Gold variants please :D. with their own unique textures too, Iron could look more industrial while Gold could look more ornamental.

I'd like rusting iron too, but gold does not rust, like at all, there's no such thing. If Iron rusting were added, then existing iron blocks in worlds should probably be converted to waxed versions to avoid ruining already-existing player builds.

Dude, chill. Copper Oxidizes, and that's pretty unique. Not to mention lightning rods... Every ore has a block variant, just because they want stairs for them is nothing to be upset about (plus, those would be crazy expensive to make in bulk anyways) :/

And I personally think Copper should have at least a few more uses than just exclusively building blocks... the update hasn't even come out yet, after all!

Sorry, it just deeply hurts me when people make suggestions of that sort :/ First people would ask for block variants for other metals, and then believe me right away they would be asking for Diamond stairs. Besides this suggestions also suggests that Iron should oxidize like Copper. They've literally said before why they want the oxidation to be a Copper exclusive and not just happen with Iron as well, just like they've talked about why Copper and Emerald tiers are not a good idea. Each ore needs to have special properties, allowing you to do something unique and creative with it, not just a somewhat different version of what another ore can do. I'd even go as far as to say that Gold being a tier (or perhaps existing at all) was a mistake that they (mostly) fixed with the Nether Update. Before then when you first here about Gold, you go like "Wow, that is epic! It's a very precious metal! What can I do with it?". Not very much actually; the only real use are Golden Apples and maybe Golden Carrots and/or Glistening Melons.

copper blocks are supposed to be building blocks, but iron and gold are just for storage

Ever since I started playing Minecraft, I've been wishing for stairs, slabs, fences, trapdoors, etc. made of iron, gold, lapis, emerald, redstone, and coal. Maybe these wishes will come true someday. There would be such great new decadent design possibilities.

Decorative variants of the mineral/compressed ingot/ore blocks would be nice. It'd serve as a nice end-game flex block to show how much resources you have even if the swaggiest stair ever was just a joke. Remember coal blocks and stained glass? Those were from joke snapshot April fools updates and those were added to the main game due to being highly requested.

Since mineral blocks are already a storage block, like copper blocks once cut they cannot be turned back into the storage mineral block and are purely decorative meaning they can't be used in Beacon pyramids.
