One thing I've noticed is that the cave update doesn't feel as deep or polished as the Nether Update or even the Aquatic Update. A big part of this is music. Adding unique music specific to an update or place makes it feel more intentional and deep-seated in the game. But another thing that adds to depth is the actual amount of content. There's already been so much added in this update, but we only have 3 biomes (amethyst geodes are too small to be considered one). I feel like in order for this update to feel fleshed-out enough in this area, we need at least 5 cave biomes. The Nether Update added 4 new biomes, and that felt like a good amount. And since the Deep Dark is going to be so unique, I almost wouldn't consider it a biome, so 5 biomes including the Deep Dark would make 4 "normal" biomes.
Finally, I feel like this update needs to be polished more. An example of a well-polished mob would be the axolotl. Its movement is super smooth and the attention to detail with the buckets of tropical fish was unexpected. But the glow squid seems to have weird movement, spinning 180 degrees really fast and going in different directions. I think that needs to be improved, but it would also be nice to have it give an effect like blindness or something after staring for too long. Also, certain placements of blocks feel random. The magma blocks that can be found in aquifers can generate in boxy shapes and can be found somewhat abundantly on the ocean floor. Ok, I'm out of space, so bye!
