    Honestly, the problem with this isn't that it defeats the purpose of amethyst being rare. The problem is that Amethyst does basically nothing right now. Telescopes are useless except for roleplaying, Tinted Glass will only be used in very specific circumstances, and Amethyst Blocks are horrible for building and can just be mined from the geodes. If we fix this problem, and give amethyst a purpose that players will actually use, then yes, it will defeat the point of amethyst being rare.

    The mushroom island is highly sought out because you can ONLY get mooshroom mobs from that specific biome. The reason it wouldn't work for this is because everything you can find here (amethyst shards, blocks) can already be found in this biome. The crystal bats are a cool idea, but again, the reason the mooshroom mobs are highly-sought after is because they can create unlimited mushroom and suspicious stew. Crystal Bats just can't do that as nobody needs the shards to do anything.

    This biome will remain obsolete until the crystal bats have a unique drop and amethyst is revamped altogether.

    Amethyst is what we can say useless at this moment. I just recommended this idea because of this one interesting dream i had about a cave that looks like it was made from something dripstone like, with amethyst spikes with what i can call an outline out of calcite blocks. I after that dream i just Brain Blasted like Jimmy Neutron and posted this idea. But thank you for your feedback

    I'll agree with the idea of having a cave biome with lots of amethyst. You see the concept art with a cave just full of amethyst like a city, and i think it could be cool if done correctly, likely also with crazy rarity.
