There are a lot of weird inconsistencies in how stones work that aren't necessarily intuitive that I feel could be fixed quite easily:
- Blackstone (and deepslate in the snapshots) can be used in place of cobblestone in crafting recipes such as tools and furnaces whereas andesite, granite, and diorite can't, unless you're crafting a stonecutter, where you can use all three at the same time.
- Smooth stone and cannot be crafted into stairs or walls; smooth sandstone and smooth red sandstone cannot be crafted into walls.
- Polished andesite, granite, and diorite cannot be crafted into walls, buttons, or pressure plates, but polished blackstone can.
-There is no "cracked" variant of endstone bricks (or deepslate bricks in the snapshots) unlike other stone brick types.
- (1.17 snapshot-specific) Deepslate is the only stone variant craftable into tiles - not entirely opposed to this, but stone tiles would be a nice addition in my opinion.
I know these are very nit-picky, but I just think it would be nice to have similar building block choices across the block palette rather than being restricted by inconsistent crafting recipes
