So if a major feature of copper is that it adds a sense of age to builds by weathering over time, why not also consider making cracked bricks and mossy blocks do similar? They would have to work differently than copper does, as not to wind up with an entire build of cracked or mossy bricks, or mossy cobblestone, but it is something to consider.
In this case, it could be based on a noise map or something, and biome. If grass or water is located in a moss-viable area then, cobblestone and stone bricks would slowly convert to mossy cobblestone and stone bricks around it. With the new moss blocks, this would happen regardless of if it was a viable space. For cracked bricks, it would simply be a matter of how many there would be. In a desert, or where snow is, more cracks would appear than in other biomes.
We would just need a way to clean it up, or stop it from happening, like with copper.
