Copper currently lacks crafting recipes and uses; a few uses I thought would make copper more useful is to add the ability for copper to make Copper Locks and Copper Keys.
Use for Copper Locks: Make Doors, Gates, Trapdoors Harder To Get Through (Adds More Security).
• When a door, fence gate, or trapdoor has a copper lock attached to it, they're harder to break and mine down; they also prevent players from opening them.
How to Unlock Copper-locked Doors/Gates/Trapdoors: Copper Keys.
• To avoid removing the point of iron doors, copper-locked doors can only be unlocked/opened by copper keys, not pressure plates, buttons, or levers, adding a new mechanic to security.
Enchantment for Copper Keys: Linking.
• The linking enchantment is for copper keys only, it comes with no levels and adds even more security. Enchanting the key and then left clicking on the lock makes that enchanted key only able to unlock that targeted lock, and makes it for any other keys that aren't set on that lock unable to unlock it.
Overall, this would be a good addition to the game, it adds more to security and would be great for adventure maps and minigames.
