Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Copper Wire

Copper wire is, of course, in huge demand, but I have ideas regarding its creation and use that I would like to outline below.

For one, I have a recipe in mind, using copper nuggets (perhaps one ingot = 4 nuggets, in keeping with the copper block principle?).  The recipe in mind is:

[_][_][_]
[C][R][C]  =  1 Copper Wire
[_][_][_]

C = copper nugget
R = redstone dust

Copper wire would be set down much like redstone dust, but it would be able to send a redstone signal up 2 blocks of distance, rather than only 1, and would also be able to go across a 1-block gap (requiring 3 copper wire to do so).

Another possibility is that you can lay carpet over copper wire without disturbing it, perhaps with a small rise where the copper wire lays?  (I just think that would be a cool Easter Egg of sorts.)

    Copper wire would also be good to combine with this idea, making a harder-to-break tripwire.

    I don't think laying carpet over wire would work but I like the idea of being able to send redstone signals through the air unsupported by blocks underneath.

    (There are lots of duplicate threads asking about copper wire but I chose to comment on this one because it provides the most detailed explanation of the poster's idea.)

    good idea but it should go straight up and down and well look at my post on it and youll see
