As part of incentivizing players to actually mine for their iron, it would be better if, for example, you could only get 16 iron from killing iron golems per day. So, if you'd want more iron, you'd have to wait for the next morning to farm for more.
This could be applied to other mob farms (or anything really), like creeper farms to stop players from amassing ridiculous amounts of gunpowder, or zombie piglins farms for gold. Plus, it doesn't need to be 16 for every drop, it could be 64 for iron but then 19980 for wither skulls and 5 for gunpowder, etc.
For this to work though, we would still need to apply two additional rules:
- This drop-cap is player-specific, so on multiplayer servers you don't have one single gamer hogging all the mob drops of the day from everyone else;
- Players would have to actually slay the mob themselves for them mob to drop anything when they die, so the previous rule actually works. Other "less enticing" drops (like roses, rotten flesh, bones, etc) wouldn't and shouldn't have to follow this rule though.
or I guess you could just limit mob drops by chunk lol
While some could view this as nullifying their gigantic mob farms, they could also view it as that the more efficient you make them, the faster you get your free daily resources!
