During MC live, the devs said they wanted the update to cater to every sub-community.
While I don't care for the speed running community, it is a bit weird that, so far, they haven't done with the speed-running community directly.
One of the major complaints and points of contention with 1.16 speed running is how heavily based on RNG (randomness) it is, with the quickest times usually being due to players being lucky to Piglin bartering (though the runners are skilled and the rng shouldn't take away from them).
During live they showed the deep dark and in it there was a generate structure that the player was exploring before being interrupted by the Warden. How about some of the loot to help speed runners.
Some suggestions include ender pearls, wool (lore-wise it could be the builders of the structures attempting to hide from the Warden but the wool can be used for beds if not to continue to hide from The Warden), and maybe on a less common chance (but not super rare) chance: an eye of ender or even a explorer's map that leads to a stronghold.
Obviously in a game like Minecraft, especially with random seed speed runs, there will always be randomness, but this should be more entertaining for viewers and runners to watch them try to navigate the caves and try to get around/past the Warden without fighting it, than just watching runners mine gold and throw it at Piglins hoping they get lucky.
