Amethyst Charm for Experience Gain

A new use for amethyst would be a charm or other item which will increase the amount of experience gained from experience orbs when held. However, the downside being that when it does this, it will lose durability. This can be used as a substitute to a totem of undying or possibly as a helmet in a necklace form, and cannot be enchanted (so no mending or unbreaking). This item can encourage players to farm amethyst to be able to maximize their experience output.

    I think it should be an item used on the offhand and maybe it could also be used in a way to repair tools that have mending by either directly transferring experience in exchange for its own durability or just make  the effect of mending more XP allot more efficient in general
