Maybe another boss besides the kraken. The kraken just doesn't seem that minecrafty to me but a mob like it would be cool. Overall I really like this idea!

Yes this is exactly what I was thinking. :) maybe some type of material can make it where you can make pressurized suits and trying to fight in this area has big risks because if your suit breaks it could kill you faster than suffocation damage. Ima share this hopefully Stealth sees it.

Maybe a glow squid boss. :D or a blue dragon ( if they ever add a red dragon)

And with the abyss being so dark, normal light sources wouldnt work. Like sea pickes wouldnt work and maybe like how the warden is in the deep dark. Maybe a super strong but SCARY mob in the Abyss that might be guarding something unique. :D anyone got more ideas with this?

i was just about to write a post about this lol

this is exactly what i was thinking about. you need a special lightsource to venture in the abyss, and you can find special mobs down there, usually creepy or humongous

I like the general idea, but water pressure doesn't fit in Minecraft, as you already have to worry about breathing... which at that depth could be plenty to worry about. Also, night vision and normal light sources should work... there is no reason they wouldn't, however, maybe there could be a mob that gives you the blindness effect, or maybe light sources just emit less light (so magma blocks and such would not illuminate anything) this works well because many light sources don't work underwater anyways.

I was also thinking of a neutral mob, the jelly fish that could have similar mechanics to the glow squid except will defending itself by stunning the attacker and upon death it could drop raw jellyfish giving a little more saturation and 5 hunger points.
