With the past addition of tipped arrows for long ranged effects, this idea could be used for melee weapons, by imbuing them with effects from different potions. Like tipped arrows, they will be limited, as the effects will stop working after a certain amount of melee strikes. This could be used for varied styles of playing, especially in multi-player, as added options for tanky builds with high defense and chip damage with healing/poison, and more healing options with arrows and melee strikes onto teammates with the effects. Critical strikes could even increase the level of the effect applied, giving an incentive to play more tactically and plan attacks.
