As we all know, bundles are coming in 1.17, and their crafting recipe gives a purpose the previously (mostly) useless rabbit hide. While I think this usage is good, I think it is horrible in practice. For one, rabbits are not very common, appearing in only a few biomes and they only drop their hide occasionally. For something that is meant to make the early game a lot easier, it sure is hard to get enough hide to make just one bundle. Another issue I see with the bundles is the moral issue of mudering a cute bunny for it's skin. While I know that killing cows, pigs, sheep, etc. is necessary and rabbits are just part of this list as well, I feel like restricting the access to bundles from people who can't bring themselves to kill them is not the way to go. My solution? Add rabbit hide to village loot tables. This way, players can get rabbit hide early on while they are exploring and filling up thier inventory the most with an assortment of blocks and items before they settle down, and they don't have to go on a rabbit murder spree while they're doing it.
