Grimstone Defeats the Purpose of the Depth Increase

I find the new Grimstone Blocks, Pretty Ugly, Because of their STARK difference from stone. I don't find the idea of a new Deep, Underground Block bad, But it's Too Dark and it has an extremely weird look. Also, Due to this block's Ugliness, The Underground Depth Increase is pointless, as the Good looking caves are just as deep as they are in 1.16. It's sad that i'd rather play 21w06a much more than 21w07a.

    It adds more challenge, if you just went to a cave in 21w06a you would find diamonds in about 5 minutes or less.

    ??? Grimstone is a mix of bedrock and stone of course it would be dark. Also, there are caves down in the subzero that look good and Grimstone is there for a reason, not only for the upcoming Deep Dark but also so it's harder than the stone so it adds more strategy to mining. Also, 21w06a sucks cuz the new caves are everywhere when they were supposed to be rare and that exposes like 100% of the rare ores like diamonds.

    I think the current texture should be for grim cobble stone, and the actual texture should be a bit smoother. It also would help if there was a thick layer of Andesite as a filler block between where stone ends and grimstone begins.

    Andesite is more granular than the smooth texture of vanilla stone blocks, but not nearly as textured as what you find with Grimstone, Diorite, and Granite. Perhaps you also could solve the "paintball" problem by having caves and ore veins made of those other stones generate within the Andesite layer.

    Given the new world height we have room for a layer of stone/clay/gravel eight blocks deep below the grass, and then a layer of 40 stone blocks, 40 andesite blocks, and 40 grimstone blocks.

    I'll admit making each of those layers 50 instead of 40 would be nicer but it works.

    This space is big enough that you can feather the different stone types together, and break them up with big caves . . . but the color gradient of the rock is such that it still might seem natural, rather than abrupt and strange.

    You also could make andesite slightly harder to mine, and grimstone harder yet. Granite and obsidian should, obviously, be the hardest rocks if we are going by nature. lol
