Axolotls should only hunt cod

Axolotls should only hunt fish that are smaller than them, specifically codfish, because if axolotls kill every sea creature they see, people may have to start killing them to save their pets. Codfish are the best choice because they are small, and not as colorful as tropical fish.

  You can just bucket them and move them to like a pool that you made for the axolotls, so that they don't kill your pets.
