So I've playtested the newest snapshot for a bit and have some feedback specifically for how ores are distributed now, along with some suggestions for improvements;
- Lapis: Consider making Lapis only spawn as 1-3 ores per vein (or blob). Getting a stack of Lazuli from a single vein means I never had to really go looking for Lapis afterwards.
- Iron: Since its currently bugged in 21w08a, I can only make an opinion off the graph and off previous snapshots, but I've got some things to say. I remember finding Iron really quickly in 21w07 and feeling a bit deflated. Iron gen is probably the most important to get right. Ideally, I think it needs to be easy to gather a ton of it later on in the game if you know what you're doing, but be a lot harder to get when you just start off a world. It could be partially hidden, like is already the case for Gold and Diamonds. Maybe also it'd generate in much bigger veins above y127, but wouldn't be found in Caves until y64 (rather than y80).
- Gold, Redstone, Emeralds, Coal: All great! Especially a fan of Coal not spawning below y0. Haven't seen any Emerald Ore yet, I'm really excited for the mountains to get updated.
- The big one; Diamonds. I like the direction of having Diamond Ores being a bit less exposed to caves, but my early opinion is that it's not enough. Diamonds are still way too common and their novelty wears off too quickly. They just didn't feel special to find after a short bit. Please consider lowering their frequency or size.
