The Little Things would be a smaller update (like the Buzy Bees update) that would improve the way you play Minecraft, add parity for each version, and focus on fixing bugs.
Examples for Bedrock:
This update could include adding background sounds, hardcore mode, spectator mode, being 1.5 blocks tall when shifting, custom flat world generator, and possibly adding spectral arrows among other things. This update could also introduce the new UI that was teased first in 2019. 
Examples for Java:
This update could implement an easier way to play multiplayer, especially with the migration from Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts. It could allow snow to fall if the block below it breaks.
