Amethyst Sharded Shield

Take a Shield, put in the center of a crafting grid, put eight amethyst shards around it: Boom! Amethys Sharded Shield!

It would function just like a regular shield, but it would deal passive damage to mobs when defending (just like the Thorns enchantment, but better) as well as giving off less cooldown on attacks, being a faster and more useful weapon on combat.

The downside tho, is that it is very frail, so it would have low durability (just like Golden gear in general). This way it is not super Overpowered, and would be more incentive to make Amethyst Geode Farms!

  I don´t like less durability, but it is a good trade off for the extra powers. Maybe the new echo shards could also have a use. I think, when you can make a shield with amethysts, then you should also be able to make a shield out off echo shards, which is may not necessary bettet, but different and harder to master.
