I love Grimstone as a dark and moody sedimentary stone, it's really fantastic, but I see a lot of people saying it looks too much like bricks, or even that it's too noisy. Sedimentary rocks have stripes in a set orientation, so it would make a whole lot of sense for Grimstone to have a different and smoother texture on its top and bottom. I think that would help dispell both pieces of feedback.
Having a topside texture hopefully helps give more verticality to the underground and helps differenciate between the texture of the walls versus the texture of the floor, which I'll admit is a little hard with current Grimstone.
Here's what I mean;

Grimstone looks really great as-is, I really wouldn't mind if it stayed the same. It was hard to come up with a tileable texture that matched the original one and could look somewhere near as good. Still, if Jappa's feeling daring enough to try this out and come up with his spin on it, I think it would be a really cool tweak to both the block and the feeling of the underground.
