This is a much needed thing, MS should collaborate with Cubic Chunks maker

This can make 1.12 players play 1.17 since they will get good fps, and more height = more mod possibilities at mc core, without 3rd party plugins

This is the number 1 thing I want in minecraft bar none and it would open up so many new possibilities for builders modders and so much more.

This would make the hight limit easier to extend

I'm not familiar with cubic chunks, however from your post I think that they would kind of work with an update Idea I was thinking about. Render distance should have a separate slider for vertical and horizontal and by default prioritize the loading of horizontal chunks before vertical ones. This way when you load areas it loads the 16 blocks above and below you until you hit 8x8 chunks (for example number could change)  around you. Only after that number got hit would it start generating or loading up and down another 16 blocks.

I know it would probably be much harder than my quick example but i think it would have the potential for a substantial performance increase.

Agree with the statement above. Still, there is a downward fall in the Game, which should not freeze, if possible.

The modder of Cubic Chunks is in a recreation of his mod for newer versions (Including 1.20) so, we don't need this.

To reply to the person above, although it may be true that the Cubic Chunks team is working on an update to their mod, that still doesn't fix the optimization problems that the base game has had for over 17 years now. As a game designer and programmer myself, I believe it is a game dev's responsibility to make their game optimized enough so it's enjoyable without requiring the use of third party software. Although I very much support the Minecraft modding community and I know they've done their best to optimize the game with things like Sodium, ModernFix, and more, the issue of Mojang continuing to not optimize Minecraft still stands. To the original poster: I completely support this idea and--although I'm doubtful--I hope Mojang may one day finally fix adopt this so the many people who had unfortunately encountered the same issue as you can one day play the base game without needing mods.
