Copper golems would be a brand new service mob. With a cut copper block and a copper block, you could create a mob with similar proportions to the player (in size it is more comparable to a zombie than an iron golem) it would have a similar color to copper and would act like a dog. When you instruct them to stay they can be activated with Redstone signals. They would also work against "enemy players", attacking anyone who opens a chest in front of them except their master player. This golems would be easier to create requiring less resources, however, they would only have ten hearts being a mild threat. To make them more useful they would also be able to grab items ( equipping armor and using weapons dropped to their direction).I think that although there should not be a golem for every reasorse there should be an expendable golem (snow golems are useless , and iron golems cost many reasorses making them not expendable).
