Those huge water-filled cave entrances are great! They form good-looking lakes and some of them should stay in the game. Glow Squid, Kelp, and Corals can help beautify these water-filled noise caves and aquifers further! I hope that those incredibly huge caves can still be found in the more recent snapshots. Also, a completely new cave hostile mob is much appreciated, spawning only underground.

If working around water is going to become massively more common, then maybe they should add enchantments or game features that help players deal with water.

Water is mainly a nuisance when mining. You DON'T want to run into large quantities of it because it will hinder your progress. As cool and exciting as the new caves look, I can't help but be pre-emptively worried for having to deal with way more underground water now.

Water slows your movement, your mining speed, puts a timer on how long you can stay under (unless you want to clutter your inventory with unstackable water breathing potions), and eliminates light sources (unless you want to spend glowstone / sea lanterns just to mine, or again, clutter your inventory with potions.

Just take into consideration playability, balance, and workarounds to having large aquifers underground.

More linking between caves needed, also make old cave generation rarer

I really like the change that makes deepslate caves not immediately accessible. It adds more progression to the game, and also decreases the chance of stumbling upon the deep dark. When playing survival, I also found surface azaleas very useful for locating and accessing deep caves.

Though maybe the amount of aquifers (and lava aquifers) should be reduced, because they often cut off caves and make them more tedious to explore.

IMO The floor or lush caves is lacking in light, this can really be seen in lush megacaves where the ceiling of the cave is bring from the glowberries but the floor is completely dark.

So this could be improved by adding some kind of glowing plant that grows on the bottom of lush caves like glowing azelea bush or something like that

I think cave noises should hint there is a cave nearby, how big it is, and how deep underground it is, and whether it is full of water or not, may need more sounds but it would give them a use

There are too many big caves and not enough small, claustrophobic caves. I find narrow, winding caves more fun to explore. They feel like more of an adventure. Right now the world feels oversaturated with huge caves so they no longer feel special.

The caves are just way to big still, in a way I miss the narrow caves for mining

I have refrained from playing the snapshots because I wanted to be surprised by the new generation, especially the mountains. Since pre-releases and release candidates have started coming out, I have been scouting out what the terrain is like in preparation for starting a new world on my server.

It seems there are so many massive caves that it feels as if the entire world, even the mountains, are resting on stilts. Additionally, the amount of surface level cave entrances is very overwhelming. The surface looks and feels like swiss cheese. I am concerned that as my friends and I start building, we will have to continually cover up massive holes in the ground to get the right look for our builds. I am not criticizing the size or look of the new caves, it just seems like they are so common that their "wow-factor" is degraded and they will become more of a nuisance than an amazing and realistic feature.

Some players like noise caves, but not all. Can Mojang add an option that no noise caves will be generated when creating a world?
