Black screen when going under y -65 in spectator mode

In Snapshot 21w06a, in a random world I generated, I tried to spectate from below all the cave generation. However, if I sunk under y -66, the entire screen would go black and I could not see anything.

  Thats just the void. You only get xray in spectator when inside a block
