So Since i saw the recent snapshot changelog, i noticed that in the changelog theres something about new ore generation wich is still w.i.p (ofc). So here are some suggestions to improve it
Noise Based: The ores could generate noise based, so that you can no longer just stripmine through and actually have to put in some strategy into mining (and luck ofc). So there will no longer be a certain height limit to the ores in every world. By noise based i mean 2 noise maps, 1 noise map for the High chance low chance ores (so that there are some areas with less ores and some with more), and then another one wich just includes the basic ore generation
Vein Based: Ore Clusters have a chance to be an ore vein. Not really prefered by me but other people have other opinions so im including this in here
Cave Based: Simple, ores will generate near caves more often then just blankly. This would make caves more fun to explore and stripmining would become useless. This would also oppose a danger to the player because of the mobs that can spawn in these caves wich just makes caves more challenging
Biome Based: Ores will generate depending on the biome that they are currently on, e.g. Lush caves will have lower ore spawn rates generally while dripstone caves will have higher iron and coal rates. There will also be no longer a certain height limit to the ores. If this gets mixed up with the noise based method, mining will be a lot more complex wich i would find really nice
