Absolutely agree, this needed to be fixed ages ago. This makes potions and turtle helmets kind of worthless.

Its not only useful for Vanilla Minecraft but also for Mod packs with Origins! Water Breathing Origins! Not only that, I would of built Atlantis if I didn't have this issue with the air pocket doors! Imagine the streets of an underwater city but then you see air pockets wherever you go, it just doesn't look good

This is something that has bothered me for a while. Doors creating air pockets instead of waterlogging is, to me, horrible game design. 6 planks should not completely invalid a potion, 2 enchantments, and a piece of armor.

With the current system, if I see an ore on the wall underwater, I can place a few pieces of cobblestone and a door to create an air bubble so I don't get restricted by the underwater mining penalty. This entirely removes the need to enchant with Aqua Affinity.

Why would I craft a Turtle Helmet, enchant with Respiration, or brew a Water Breathing Potion if I can just place a door down and get the same effect? Doors stack and aren't on a timer so I get unlimited time underwater.

The air caused by doors also means that underwater structures, like monuments and shipwrecks, could be completed minutes within starting a new world rather than requiring the player to build up and come back later once they're truly prepared to explore the ocean.

Doors in Bedrock do get waterlogged and don't create the air pockets. This is the way things should be as it's more balanced game design wise and more realistic to how doors are in the real world.

    Just some thoughts.

Bumping this up for Mounts of Mayhem.

Java players would literally swim circles around the Nautilus Jockeys.

I feel like doors should have the air pocket when you first place them. But you should be able to waterlog them afterwards with a bucket if you want. That way, they can still be used for early game underwater exploration and they look nice in builds avoiding the weird air pocket look. This way, everyone is happy.
