Since the world depth would be increased we could add a dark ocean biome that is filled with other interesting mobs.

Yes! Diving to the sea floor shouldn't be a walk in the park.

With 3D biomes and like 200 more blocks of depth they should add Abyssal Ocean biomes where it's pitch black, filled with glowing sea creatures, Jellyfish, Thermal Vents, and maybe some sea monsters like Subnatica.

I was thinking the same kind of thing, although we are getting underwater caves, if some caves are connected to the deepest parts of the ocean, then they could be their own cave biome.

They could be the homes of the glow squid, as the area would be dark, they could also have other bio luminescent things, it would create some interesting under water biomes. since drowned and glow squid both have glowing in their textures, it would not be crazy for them, plus some other luminescent things to inhabit the cave (like underwater hanging vines, or just some sea lanterns or glow lichen around)

Just increasing the depth of the "deep ocean" biome and variants would be amazing. Since the world height can now allow for the deep oceans to actually be deeper than the regular ocean biome.

If there was a deeper ocean biome maybe it could be pitch black, have hypothermia, and have the player deplete their oxygen quicker. In return there are higher chances to find rare resources and copper boots can be made to allow you to sink faster.

Deep dark ocean is really cool, but a little too much right now, but I think it's totally fine to lower the ocean as they're revamping the entire world right now

i would love a deep ocean update, with the glow squid in action you could get a glimpse of what it could be. additionallly, i feel like the movement system in water needs to be revamped, as it allways brings you uppwards when you move, since the deep would require supirior diving a revamp would be neccesary. subnautica showed us how glorios oceans can be when created properly, so i say the deep dark should come to minecraft.

I'm thinking it goes down to approximately y-60? and perhaps to help players from accidentally mining into while in a cave the sea floor and walls have some tougher darker sediment rock a few blocks deep. Another interesting idea is that at y-20 to -60 they make the oceans appear fully pitch black except for a few glowing mobs and the only way you can see is with night vision. A way I think mojang could find a way to introduce this biome is during a "New Biome, Vote" or I suppose they could put it in a Biome update (1.21?)

I don't care about biomes or anything else, I just want deeper oceans.

Think i would be cool to have these deep ocean biomes made up of a new stone, shale, rather then the typical gravel that can house up to new glowing and translucent sponges, algae e.t.c. And perhaps can generate a new metropolis like structure down there too.

The new swimming mechanic added in 1.13 makes the current ocean size feel small. Even from the very bottom, you can easily swim to the top before you drown. Making the ocean cut all the way down to atleast Y = 0 or even lower will make you bring more potions with you

Yes please, oceans that go to like y-30-40 would make it hard to get to the ocean floor and also give the oceans more depth. I've done this with data packs and it's definitely much better

I've missed wide and deep oceans ever since they were removed back when they did the big ocean update.  I've literally waited YEARS to have wide and deep oceans.  I believe the original complaint was that "there is nothing there" or "it takes too long to travel through" or some such, but it really was just people having lack of imagination.  Now with the height and depths being increased, it really is the perfect time to add some of that ocean love again.

I like the idea of deeper oceans, or deep wide ravines or "pits" scattered about. It would make sense if sea beds were made of sand, gravel, mud, stone or clay, but it doesn't really matter to me. If we were to add any passive mob in a deep ocean, I would like to see the halibut, or some kind of flat fish. I'm not sure a aggressive mob would be needed since the risk of death would be relatively high in the deep. My last thoughts on a deeper ocean would be giant clams that have pearls. The clams should be able to hurt you as a trade off for collecting pearls. As for a use for the pearls themselves, I can't think of anything but white dye and villager trading, white armor trims could be an option, or a recipe for brewing.
