Harpies and lamias - the transformed enchantresses
Currently in Minecraft, we have quite an interesting scene when It comes to hostile mobs, but not that many can be found in the Overworld, and with the new caves and cliffs update, It’d make sense if an enemy were to be added for each part. If Anything, witches could also use a more minor update, besides, what exactly do they want to be? What do they want? To answer this, A new idea for two specific mobs came to mind, two beauties who reside in their respective areas. The harpy would be an occasional hostile mob in the mountains, with witch-like robes and pale skin (as they were likely once witches) while retaining a more humanoid body with avian wings. They’d have 25 HP and would have a set of attacks, which includes Swooping down, similar to phantoms, grabbing you to drop you from a high distance (although it is rare), and Throwing It’s feathers at you, which are tainted with hinderances. Upon death the harpy will drop 5-8 XP, 3-6 feathers, and a special “harpy feather”, which can be used to brew the avian potion, giving levitation for 10 seconds followed by 10 seconds of slow-falling. Meanwhile, the lamia would resemble a large serpentine maiden, who again, was once a witch. They’d have 45 HP and would reside in Normal and (more commonly) lush Caverns (the more larger, “comfortable” caves). They’d attack by using a spear and a shield, making it the first mob to wield a shield and also introduce the spear, a new mid-range weapon to go with the stronger trident.
