Copper ingots could be used to make a copper pan. (Crafted like the bucket recipe).
When you go to a river biome, you can set the pan down like a block in the water, and it will fill up with minerals from the river.
The minerals you could pan would be:
- Iron Nugget (15%)
- Gold Nugget (15%)
- Sand (24%)
- Gravel (12%)
- Clay (24%)
- Emerald (8%)
- Diamond (2%)
This would be a way to get renewable sand, and renewable clay! - And it allows passive players to get certain minerals without going too much into the caves. (Although it would take a long time as nuggets require 9 to make an ingot and the diamond outcome would be rare.)
I think this would be a brilliant use for copper, and also a way to introduce a new type of gameplay to vanilla with Caves and Cliffs!
