Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

new hunting weapon: the spear

it would be a new weapon to create at the very beginning of the game to hunt animals for their food. It would be craftable with 2 sticks and 1 stone block (diagonally) on the crafting table. It will be launched in the same way as the trident but of course it will do the same damage as a stone sword. the impalement enchantment can be applied to it.

    You do know Impaling only effects underwater mobs, right?

    I love the idea, I actually had the exact same idea myself, down to the crafting recipe, but even though it would do less damage than the trident, I still think it would be too cheap for Mojang's taste.  There's a reason that the trident isn't craftable, and I assume that's because Mojang doesn't want players to have access to a melee and ranged weapon without having to work for it.  Then again, my guess is as good as yours, so I'll vote for it in the hope that Mojang will listen.
