I saw a lot of submissions talking about adding different breeds of dogs. But I think wolves and dogs should be two separate entities. Like ocelots and cats, wolves should be in the wild (but still tamable, and maybe with different styles depending on the biome, like arctic wolves for ice biomes, timber wolves for forests, and more). I also feel like there should be a leveling system, so instead of having a bunch of dogs, and not really using all of them, maybe add being able to choose a path for your dog. Ex. making them a hunter (they would go out and kill mobs and then come back to their dog bed (I'll get to that later)), or maybe an attack dog (with raised attack stats), just things that would make your bond with your pet stronger. I think that dog beds and food bowls should be added. Dog beds would be a great way to add in a respawn feature for the pets. For example, your dog decides to jump of a cliff? No worries, go back home and interact with his bed and he'll come back! And dog bowls could be a great way to use rotten flesh. For example, you put in 15 rotten flesh and the dog can eat from his bowl until his tail is all the way up. The separate entity for dogs I mentioned earlier could work very much like how the cat mechanic works now. The golden retrievers (or whichever breed), could spawn in a village and be tamed with bones just like wolves. I think that this update would draw a lot of people back into Minecraft, because who doesn't love Minecraft dogs?
