Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Apple trees

Apple trees naturally spawn in certain forest biomes, but can be planted by crafting an apple into seeds, similar to melons. Once crafted into apple seeds, you must hoe the ground (doesn’t require water) and plant the seeds. Once the seeds are planted, you use a shovel to cover up the plot of the tree. Apple trees give different wood than other trees. Similar to spruce, but a little green. You can also plant golden and enchanted apple trees. Golden has a 1/5 chance of planting successfully. Enchanted has a 1/10 chance. Additionally, by crafting apple seeds with gold ingots all around or gold blocks all around, you can make golden applle and enchanted apple seeds.

    I would like apple trees to be more like bamboo, because I feel like Minecraft has enough trees, hehe :D So, an apple tree doesn't get taller than two bloks and when mined you would just get sticks. When fully grow you can pick apples from the tree, like sweet berries from the sweet berry bush. Though, I really like the idea with golden apple trees or enchanted golden apple trees. It sounds so cool.

    My idea for apple trees is similar to grass seeds becoming wheat, via oak trees.

    Functionally, they're similar to azalea trees being that they have oak wood but a different type of leaf block that drops apples if destroyed instead of oak saplings.

    This could set up a precedent for how fruit trees would work, adding new fruit and leaf-block types without having to add a new wood type(with the exception of cheery trees as they're famously known for their wood). Furthermore, fruit trees for the most part should not have a tall/big version to differentiate them from their wild non-fruit counterparts, considering how historically, fruit domestication favors shorter trees because they're easier to pick and ensures both tree types have separate specialized roles for fruit and wood.

    There should definitely be apple trees, since it is ridiculous that apples come from oak trees. That makes no sense!

    I agree apple trees should be a thing sure you get them from oaks but it's a certain drop chance and 9/10 don't always get one, having them harvestable like the sweet Berries in tree form would be great add a new food item with it as well like apple pie like pumpkin it would be redish in center and berry pies would be cool too and have more a purplish color in center over all apple trees and more food items would be cool. Pies, maybe jams/jellys combined with the bread loaf make jelly/jam sandwiches

    I think it would be a better idea if apples were rare and you had to find them to plant your own apple tree, since golden apples are a valuable resource
