What if, you could survive the Void?

(If someone already had this idea and I mean this is completely identical to their idea then tell me.)I was thinking what if instead of dying when falling into the void (which can happen out of the player's control.) instead what happens is when you fall into the void you lose 9.5 of your hearts and get teleported to a void dimension where the only way out is to defeat some void monster and being teleported to the surface or just dying and then losing your stuff. I was thinking the void monster could be a boss that you could fight at anytime just by going into the void. I got this idea when I was watching people play hardcore and get game ended because the ender dragon pushed them into the void. It was there I thought "What if, instead of immediately dying there could be a way to survive without needing ender pearls or elytra's?" After that I just started making ideas in my head about the challenges the player would face when being in the void, what could the boss drop, and how can you defeat it. For now this is all I have in my head and if you can update ideas then I will update this soon if not then I will post an update.

    I'm not sure of a whole new dimension, because then the question comes up of what happens when you fall into the void of this dimension

    I do like the idea of a sort of jail where you can escape and come back. If this was a dimension, it would be cool if anything that has ever been killed or despawned appeared there, meaning you can find lost items. It could be where after a certain amount of time the things there will be gone permanently, but some things may stay longer, such as lost Dragon Eggs
