Tin scraps are a resource only obtainable from the Nether. They come from the ruins of Piglin civilization, unlike netherite scraps which come from the debris of something more ancient and powerful.
Obtaining
When mining rubble, it will have a 10% chance of dropping a tin scrap. Rubble blocks generate as a part of Bastion Remnants or in collapsed piles on their own.
They can also be salvaged from Piglin artifacts. Artifacts are non-craftable decorative blocks that litter Bastion Remnants. They can be anything from pots to lamps to trophies to gargoyle statues. Players can collect these pewter relics to decorate their own base, or they can smelt it in a furnace to recover tin scraps.
Chests in bastions can contain tin scraps and Piglins may barter them.
Uses
Craft decorative tin blocks, they look like tin tiles.
Brew the Potion of Tin Pest. Tin Pest is a status effect you can give yourself so if someone else strikes you with a weapon (or any item with durability), that weapon will take 4 extra durability damage. Bows, crossbows, and armor won't be affected unless they are physically hitting you with that item.
Tin scraps with iron nuggets could make tin cans. Tin cans can replace a bowl when crafting stews/soups to craft its canned version. Canned food stacks up to 16, allowing it to fit in bundles and makes it more efficient to store. To consume, you have to craft it with a bowl to get the original food.
Upgrade copper at the smithing table to get bronze, which is an iron side-grade.
