mineshafts should be updated with some new blocks to make it look nicer, bits of new structures like piles of tnt (shouldn't spawn often cause that would be too op), barrels that can sometimes contain loot, maybe ladder drops that lead straight down deeper into mineshafts, and maybe even areas which contain crafting tables and furnaces like crafting and smelting areas that people who used to be in your world made to smelt and craft. (these could add onto the lore of minecraft too). Mineshafts should also have some new wood fence type blocks that could replace the plank fence supports of the shafts supporting overhangs or whatever they're called. There should be bark and log types of the wooden fences and gates that can spawn in the mineshafts for the ceiling supports. They can also be crafted the same ways as if you were crafting a wooden plank gate or fence, except you use bark wood for a bark type fence and gate, or wood logs for log type fences and gates. This would also fit well with other structures that might be added, and even for your own builds. It makes it all look more natural, while keeping it the same vanilla style. It doesn't have to be to fancy, just simple but look more nicer.
