a new curse. the rust curse.

the rust curse will do the opposite of the mending enchantment. instead of fixing it it will break the item. this will happen when you try to enchant an item with mending but don't have enough xp.

    Having Mending added could counter this curse, possibly just removing it

    It shouldn't get created whilst trying to enchant things, but rather be on some treasure chestplates in structures all around your world.

    Or just getting xp breaks the item. It's fine for a curse because the whole point of them is to be kind of annoying. That a good idea

    How about you call it “curse of withering”.  Rust wouldn’t necessarily damage it quicker but rather make it’s damage weaker over time.  Just a thought please don’t hate.
