PROBLEM: Chainmail armor is in all respects weaker and less desirable than Iron armor. So, why is iron armor available from novice armorsmith villagers, and chainmail doesn't come until you promote them once or twice?
IDEA: I suggest swapping the entries for available armor pieces in armorsmiths so chainmail is available from novices, and iron armor requires promotion to apprentice and/or journeyman.
This would allow the lesser armor to be available earlier, while keeping the stronger armor more rare until later in the game.
NOTE: The table would be the same layout, i.e. you get only two of the four chainmail choices from novice armorsmiths. Apprentices would offer two pieces of iron armor, and journeymen would offer the other two.
OPTION: Instead of keeping the progression similar, it might be even better if two chainmail pieces were choices at novice level, and the other two become options at apprentice. This would make only two iron pieces become available from journeymen, but that would again improve the value of iron armor vs. chainmail armor. However, it would probably make implementing it in the code more difficult.
