Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Steel weapons and armor.

I think the gap between Iron and diamond could be bridged by implementing steel weapons and armor. You could put your iron stuff into a smithing table and add a copper ingot to upgrade it to Steel.

    Copper is weaker than iron, and that's not how to make steel anyway.

    Maybe they could add a new, rare kind of coal that generates with coal veins that is combined with iron to craft steel armor.

    I think that steel is a great idea, but the gap between diamond and iron is too small, and steel is too varied to fit into that gap.  Instead, diamond gear (carbon) could be combined with an iron block to make steel, an alternative to netherite.

    Steel is as protective as diamond, and it's durability can not only be fixed, but it's max durability can be increased by adding more diamonds. It can also be imbued with more niche properties.

    Also, adding copper to gold gear makes brass gear, which fools piglins into thinking it is gold until it either rusts or is closely inspected. it is slightly stronger than gold.
