Nice! I like the thought of maple trees, and I think syrup would open up a lot of crafting recipes with food! I also had the random thought that you could place it on a cake. Not to make a pancake or anything. Just to put syrup on a cake. I don't know why I thought of that.

I thought an idea to have saplings of all autumn leaves on existing trees to and a couple of other autumn biome variants, which is in this other feedback post:

Oooo and red leaves with a maple tree and dead leaf piles and even a rake to collect it.

Maybe some pumpkin patches around this forest would look nice

Great idea! If this gets added it should have a leaf patch mechanic similar to the ones in the Cherry Grove biome and some cute animals like squirrels that can climb the trees and foxes there!

i wish they really added this. the cherry blossom/cherry grove biome really reignited my desire for this. autumn is such a beautiful time of the year and honestly having an autumn biome would remove the need for seasons bc it's the only season not really represented in the game.

much like the azalea trees you wouldn't even need new wood. in the autumn biome, oak trees become maple (tall oak trees with redish leaves) and the birch trees become silver birch (tall birch trees with yellow leaves). and maybe put in a ginkgo tree if possible. and just like we have the new cherry blossom petal carpets, we would have autumn leaf carpets you can find/place on the floor around trees, and have the little sprites of falling leaves. everything you need is already pretty much implemented in the game. a new mob for it like a squirrel or an owl would be cool but not necessary.

I had the same idea and already wrote out the suggestion so ill post it here:

We know that seasons in minecraft are improbable but I was thinking that there are now biomes in the game that represent each season except for ONE. Plains/Beach = summer. any snow biome = Winter. Cherry Grove = spring. But we dont have any for autumn. So i was thinking what if there was a new biome? maybe called something like Maple Forest. It will have orange leaved trees like the leaves in autumn. There will be a falling leaves particle that spawn under the leaves. I feel like it would be a good idea if there were leaf piles and once you right click or break them you either get loot (maybe a biome exclusive item) or a mob could jump out? It would also be cool if you could make them yourself and hide items in them.

Another thought I had is that this idea could be a good way to introduce a mob like squirrels to minecraft! because I feel like rummaging through leaf piles and finding acorns could be cool and could also be used to tame or breed the squirrels. Like bees with their bee hives, I feel like it could be cool if, in some of the trees, one of the logs has a hole and thats where the squirrels go at night. If you break the log with a hole in it i'd imagine you just get a normal log (and if there are squirrels inside when the log is broken they would get kicked out like bees do) but the player would also be able to craft a man-made home for the squirrels
